Week 3 July 21-25

Weekly sessions are Monday through Friday, 9AM-3PM, with early drop off and late pick-up available, if needed, for an additional charge. The camp cost is $500.00; with a $300.00 non-refundable deposit due to reserve your place. The balance of $200.00 is due two weeks before the first day of camp.

The Summer Camp at Wall Equestrian Center is a day camp designed for children ages 6-16. Children at any riding level, from those with little or no experience to the advanced rider, are accepted at our summer camp. Riders are divided into groups according to their level of experience. Beginners are taught a good foundation for developing their equestrian learning. More advanced riders are offered the opportunity to improve their skills.

Your child will learn the basics of horse care and horsemanship in a safe, fun and controlled atmosphere headed by an experienced riding instructor. There will also be several assistants to help the campers. Your child will have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly acquired skills on Friday, Parent’s Day, when the camp holds it’s own horse show at 1:00 PM. All campers will compete and show off what they have learned. Everyone receives ribbons and after the show there will be awards given for sportsmanship, most improved rider, grooming, etc. Preparing for this horse show, the campers learn proper horse show preparation.

When not mounted or involved in horse care, children will participate in arts and crafts, as well as games and activities relating to the horse. Afternoons are spent eating lunch, making crafts, and playing on our child size course of horse jumps. Each week of camp will offer something unique to enable the possibility for multiple week long camps.

During our camp sessions through out the summer, students receive daily riding instruction along with dismounted lessons on veterinary care, nutrition, and other equine related topics. Campers will actually feed and care for their assigned horse with their partner. The campers will also learn from a farrier and watch a horse being shod. The camp will provide participants with a horse and equipment or stabling for those who may own their own horse.

Children need only to bring a bag lunch, snacks and plenty of water. They should arrive in their riding clothes (long pants or riding pants and boots with a low heel). We will only allow riders to use ASTM approved riding helmet with a fully functional chin strap.

To sign up for the camp please call the camp instructor directly at 732-252-5700. Ask for Kim Meckes. Feel free to call with any questions.
